Gamma

AI presentation generator

by Gamma

Overview

Gamma creates card-based presentations, documents and web pages from text, with PDF and PPTX import. Free can generate up to 10 slides per prompt and Plus up to 100; manual slides can be added afterwards. Ten slides is a per-generation limit, not a maximum file length. These are documented capabilities, not results of an export or quality test.

Free AI credits do not renew automatically. Plus includes 1,000 credits per month, Pro 4,000 and Ultra 20,000; paid credits are issued monthly and unused credits can roll over up to twice the plan’s monthly allowance. We could not verify the current USD monthly checkout price for these paid plans from the official pages reviewed, so no old price or annual equivalent is substituted.

Gamma exports PDF, PNG and PPTX; its Google Slides route uses an uploaded PPTX, and DOCX export is not currently supported. Native editable tables are enabled by default on all plans, but this does not establish native editable data for every chart or visual. Free-workspace exports carry Gamma branding. An active paid plan removes branding from subsequent exports, without changing previously exported files. PPTX effects may degrade and Google Slides may ignore embedded fonts, so check the downloaded file before delivery.

For a 12-slide deck within a US$15 monthly budget, Free is a documented route to try: check remaining credits, generate up to 10 slides, add two manually, then export and inspect the PPTX. This is not a tested delivery result, and repeated generation is not guaranteed free. A requirement for 12 slides in one generation or no branding needs a verified paid-plan price and allowance.

API keys require Pro, Ultra, Teams or Business. ChatGPT and Claude connectors can work on Free or Plus without an API key but still consume Gamma credits. Personal Free/Plus/Pro/Ultra workspaces allow content to be used for Gamma model training by default, with an opt-out in Data Controls; organization workspaces default to no training, and Business/Enterprise lock that setting. Content is stored in the cloud, so a no-training setting is not offline processing or zero storage.

Editor's take

Consider Gamma for a card-based drafting workflow when manual cleanup is acceptable. Free provides a documented 10-slide-plus-manual-pages route to a longer PPTX, with branding and non-renewing AI credits. Verify paid monthly pricing and inspect the actual file if the job needs more generation, no branding or specific editable objects; no deck has been tested here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Gamma free, and do its credits renew?

Free includes limited AI credits and PPTX export with Gamma branding. Free AI credits do not renew automatically. Plus has 1,000 monthly credits, Pro 4,000 and Ultra 20,000; paid unused credits can roll over up to twice the monthly allowance. Current USD monthly paid-plan prices remain unverified in this review.

Can Free make a 12-slide deck?

Free can generate up to 10 slides per prompt, and Gamma permits manual slide additions. A 10-plus-2 route is a documented attempt within a zero subscription budget, subject to remaining credits and manual work; the final 12-slide PPTX has not been tested. Plus currently lists up to 100 generated slides per prompt.

Is every object in an exported PowerPoint editable?

Gamma exports PPTX and enables native editable tables by default on all plans. That does not guarantee native data editing for every chart or visual, or lossless fonts and layout. Inspect the required objects in the downloaded file and save and reopen it before delivery.

Can I remove the Gamma branding?

Free-workspace exports carry branding. An active paid plan removes it from later exports; already exported files do not update automatically. Verify the paid plan’s current monthly price before using it in a budget calculation.

Does Gamma export Word documents or connect to Google Slides?

The documented exports are PDF, PNG and PPTX; DOCX is not currently supported. Google Slides uses the exported PPTX, and may ignore embedded fonts, so this route needs its own file check.

Does Plus include API access?

API keys require Pro, Ultra, Teams or Business. ChatGPT and Claude connectors can be used on Free or Plus without an API key, but still consume Gamma credits. Connector access and API-key eligibility are separate.

Does Gamma use my content for training?

Personal Free/Plus/Pro/Ultra workspaces allow Gamma model training by default, with an opt-out in Data Controls. Organization workspaces default to no training, and Business/Enterprise lock that policy. Gamma still stores workspace content in the cloud; no training does not mean local processing or zero storage.
