React/Node, your GitHub and your own domain for US$20 a month: Replit versus Bolt
Replit Core at US$20 a month uses the entire budget, while Agent, hosting, networking and database usage can add charges. Bolt Pro starts at US$25. Its US$9 Lite option is waitlisted and excludes custom domains, so it does not solve this brief. Building for free and deploying elsewhere needs its own complete cost check.

The task
Spend US$20 a month without annual prepayment or a waitlist, build a React/Node prototype in the browser, sync it to your own GitHub and publish it on your own domain. Bringing an existing domain is allowed but buying one is still a separate cost. A preview is not production publishing, and code sync is not database or authentication migration.
Official sources checked 23 September 2026. Budgets assume a US personal account, USD before tax and monthly billing without annual prepayment. Region, eligibility and checkout prices can differ, and nothing here is a generation, quality or workload test.
Candidates
Meets the documented conditions is not the same as a completed task: it means the conditions listed in the official pages are satisfied, and the limits below still apply.
Replit Agent / Core
Unconfirmed; not recommended yetThis month: US$20 a month: the price condition is met. The US$18 annual equivalent is outside this task, and the plan includes US$20 of usage.
Git and GitHub import, push and branches are documented, along with built-in production publishing. Release settings, domain configuration and confirmation are still required, and a temporary preview is separate from a deployment. The US$20 all-in total is not confirmed.
- Agent, publishing, networking and database resources consume allowance and can produce usage charges afterwards.
- This project React/Node deployment compatibility, domain setup and traffic cost were not verified item by item.
Bolt Pro
Does not meet this taskThis month: From US$25 a month with 10M monthly tokens, before any extra domain or hosting cost.
Does not meet the monthly budget. It supports JavaScript frontends and Node.js backends with GitHub sync, and publishes through Bolt hosting or supported Netlify workflows, but the price already exceeds the brief.
- Hosting has quotas and overage settings, and only the project owner manages its GitHub connection.
Bolt Forge-only Lite
Does not meet this taskThis month: US$9 a month, by invitation waitlist and limited to Forge.
Does not meet the no-waitlist and custom-domain conditions: it excludes custom domains and Standard or Max rights cannot be transferred to it.
- Preview conditions applied September 14 to October 14, 2026, so it is not a generally available low-price plan.
Bolt Free with your own external deployment
Unconfirmed; not recommended yetThis month: Free lists 300K daily and 1M monthly tokens, and whether that suffices for this project was not tested.
GitHub and code download routes are documented, but they do not establish free production hosting or custom-domain rights. A complete configuration under US$20 was not validated here, so this is neither ruled out nor presented as qualified.
- External Node hosting, cost, domain, database, authentication and storage migration all need separate checks.
How to total the month
Add the plan, any Agent or generation cost outside included allowances, hosting, database and network charges outside allowances, this month domain expense and required external services. An included allowance is a benefit already paid for, not cash that can be subtracted twice and not unlimited resources. Replit US$20 plan leaves no fixed-budget headroom, so extra spending has to be zero or demonstrably covered.
What travels with the code
Check source, dependencies and build commands, environment variables and secrets, database schema and data, authentication, file storage, domain and DNS, scheduled jobs and third-party API billing. Never commit secrets to GitHub. A repository containing code proves code sync; a complete move needs verification in the destination environment.
Browser and data boundary
Bolt uses hosted previews and a read-only Code view in Safari, and Replit is also a cloud workspace, so a browser interface does not mean all execution and inference stay on your device. This brief does not require code to stay on device, so that alone does not disqualify either product, but check the account data policy before using private code.
